Competition week

So today we are making our final adjustments before the big competition. Both of our teams are working extremely hard so as to (hopefully) secure the win on Friday. We have made a lot of big decisions that could make or break the win, Such as no sensors which means we rely completely on math, that is all for now.

Choosing our Competetors

 With the competition being so close we chose to send two teams, one team consisting of four people and the other consisting of three. Today we will decide the two robots that we are sending with those groups. People are racing against the clock to get all their robot built and programmed. After the robots are chosen they will decide if they are taking the robot, table, and supplies home. But for now we are staying later than our average time, instead of staying till 5 we will stay till 7. So we have two extra hours to work and prepare for the upcoming competition.

ARE YOU READY?

Today we have a total of 9 people. Previously we had talked about the practice competition, sadly we did do do very well but all we can say is we were not the best, but we were not the worst. Our goal for today is to improve our robots to the best of our ability so that we can compete in the actual Robotics competition in Friday April 8th from 4:00 to 9:00. Down below you can see how we are working to improve our robots for the competition. We are also doing a video and picture activity with retro toys (look below for images).

Competition Nearing

With the competition only 5 weeks away our teams our racing to design, build, and program their robots. So far everyone is on the programming part, and everyone is using trial and error. Our practice tables are set and we are testing and tweaking our robots to do their best. During the warm up competition our team placed 10th out of 12 groups. Also, our video committee is hard at work with our "Brixterz Robotics Team Video and Picture". We are using an 80's theme. The competition is nearing, it's on Friday, April 8th, from 4:00-9:00 at University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy. We hope to do our best and win this competition so we can move on to the next stage.

Last Meeting Till Competition

Today we have 13 members here as we prepare for the practice competition this Saturday at Lawrence Tech University from 1:30 to 6:00. Sadly we can only have one of the four teams go to the practice competition. So far the advancing group can get three of the four balls into the hole with the putter. Practice Competition Ready Up

Hello blog viewers! Today we have a total of 12 people here. Our goal for today is to build and program our robots for the practice competition on the 20th of February. Down below you will see images of our work accomplished today. (Extra: Today students are trying to stay at practice till 7:00 pm for extra time to advance our work).

Almost There

Today we have 15 people at our meeting today. Today Our goal is to Program our robots and discuss designs for the robots, As well as think of some video and image ideas. Prep for Warm up Competition

GETTING READY FOR QUALIFYING ROUND!!!!!!

Today on 1/20/16 we have 18 people our of 20 at our weekly meeting! Our plan for today is to continue inventorying and brainstorming ideas for the robot for this years competition. Down below you will see some of our doings today. Tune in every Wednesday for our weekly blog.

Today on January 13, 2016 we have a total of 17 out of 20 members at the meeting. Today we will continue inventorying our robotic kits, build a robot,create a design for our team t-shirts as well as start programming the robot. This Saturday there will be a information meeting for all participants for the robotic competition at Lawrence Tech University. Down below you will see images of our doings today.

01/06/16 First Robotic Meeting with New Members!

Today, we are finishing inventorying kits(images down below), and creative building robots. This year we have 11 new members which consist of 6th, 7th, and a few 8th graders, as well as a whole new concept to the challenge which consists of golfing you can see a video demonstration down below. Since we have 11 new members we now have a total of 20 members! We meet every Thursday from 3:15 to 5:00 or as late as 7:00 depending on each individual groups progress towards the competition in April.
